Holiday Christmas Message

Wedding Couple in Winter

Sitting in my office today, I can see from my window, there is a chill wind and impending snowfall.  The sky is grey, and I can hear a dog barking outside accompanied by the soft, rhythmic whir from my computer.  It is quiet.  I have been quiet as well. This can only mean one of two things: I am incredibly busy, or I am incredibly melancholy.  A little bit of both really.

Car in snowLast winter, I encountered several occasions where my small but mighty Fiat (I call her Fiona) became stuck in the snow.  I mean, really stuck!  Get out and push stuck.  Foot on the gas, foot off the gas, turn the wheel left, turn the wheel right, reverse, drive, and try again – only to move a few feet forward. Wedding and event planning have been much the same throughout 2020.

We have scheduled, rescheduled, amended plans, cancelled plans, cried, laughed, and cried again.  It is a challenge for so many of you and we are there with you all the way.  It is clear to us, how much we care about every one of you and the plans we are making together.

We had some beautiful successes through the summer and early fall of 2020, with many micro and mini wedding ceremonies.  Joyous celebrations with limited guests but so much love in the air.  Proposals too!  Fabulous proposals from elaborate to intimate but always with the promise of something special, something to look forward to, something to hold on to.

We have had losses too.  Friends and family who have passed, not from the pandemic but just because it was their time.  Unable to fully say good-bye and celebrate their lives is heart breaking.  We are sure you have or are experiencing the same.

The holidays will be difficult for many but with due diligence, we will get through it and come out stronger and wiser on the other side.

Rearview 2020With that said, we are looking toward 2021 with cautious optimism and excitement.  So many of you have moved your plans from 2020 to 2021 and beyond. We are honoured you have chosen us to be your people, to work with you to create a memorable and elevated experience.  If nothing else, 2020 has highlighted what is profoundly important and while we may not be able to gather, we are celebrating with you and holding you close in our hearts and minds.

Wishing you joy, peace, and good health!

Suzanne & Ken
